The Winning Fitness Mindset

Very few people know that we must first change our mindset to make lasting positive changes. We must develop a different belief system, a new way of thinking or seeing things, altering our perception of fitness and its meaning in our lives.

"Do you know what holds people back the most when it comes to fitness goals?"

We get this question a lot — and so far, the most popular answer I've heard is: "I love pizza too much. I don't like to workout. I am too busy".

There is an underlying answer underneath all these responses. We are unwilling to let go of habits that may bring immediate satisfaction at the expense of our own long-term health.

This unwillingness to let go of old habits is typically sustained by a set of beliefs that make it even hard to fight it off.

This blog will show you how to train your brain to embrace fitness as a lifestyle to bring you on the path of health, strength, and mental toughness.

1) Negative Thinking

Some things in life can seem impossible without proper motivation. But, a lot of us get impacted by our negative thinking abilities. When our emotion affects our performance, we stop and leave what we started.

If your goal is to whip your body into the best possible physical shape, you should stay positive.

2) Setting Unrealistic Goals

The biggest mistake is setting unrealistic goals. Losing 15 pounds in a week or two is not a realistic goal, and it's not healthy. Even if you did achieve this goal, you would only be setting yourself up for discouragement because it cannot realistically be maintained over the long term.

3) Comparing Ourselves to other people

We've all been subjected to the endless stream of "perfect people with perfect bodies" social media. There is no magic formula for losing weight, and there is no such thing as the perfect body.

Everyone has different skills, strengths, weaknesses, and capacities, so there's no point in comparing oneself to someone else. Yet, many of us lose motivation when we can't achieve what we see on these platforms.

4) Being Impatient

Most people fail to achieve their fitness goals simply because they persistence and determination to commit to them.

We might think the path to our fitness dreams will be a bed of roses. But it isn't like that at all – even for those on the right track. Some obstacles on the way keep us going, motivated, and eventually grow.

5) Leaving The Goal Halfway

We go and train at the gym a few times, but we tend to go away when we get busy in life. What happened? We lose track and will be back to basics again. And history repeats itself. That's why we don't achieve results.

A healthy and fit lifestyle is not about achieving one kind of perfection. It's about bringing various lifestyles together to make something you love sustainable. It's a total lifestyle change.

How Can We Achieve Your Fitness Goals?

When it comes to achieving our fitness goals, our mindset is the ultimate determinant of success. Think about it, people who are successful in life have a specific mental 'know-how' about things that allows them to achieve their goals more often than others.

Yes, hard work, consistency, and effort are necessary on our part. But, if you want to achieve something, mental aspects, like learning how to stay motivated or conquer fear, are a sure-fire way to accelerate progress and success like never before!

1) Set The Right Mindset

The mind is one of the most essential tools you have. If you have a bad mindset, you're not going to achieve your goals. If you believe that it's hard, it will be in the fitness world.

2) Set Realistic Expectations

Before starting any exercise routine, it's crucial to set a goal. First, we should determine our desired level of commitment. Find what we want to achieve in our goal.

However, let's also consider realistic expectations.

3) Find a Community

We Don't Have To Do It Alone. An excellent way to make sure that you're sticking to your workout routine is to find a community - or a team - who will walk the path with you.

4) Ditch Excuses

Excuses are the common obstacles towards our leap to success. When we set goals, we should remember that no excuses can hinder us from achieving them.

If our goal is to do a 5-minute pushup in the morning, let's do it. We should never let the cold weather stop us from doing it because we just want to sleep more.

5) Remind Ourselves Why We're Living An Active Life

Our motive to work out is worth reminding ourselves of. Remind yourself every time you work out what you're doing this for. It is because you want to feel good and look good. We're doing what's best for our health. We're choosing to invest in wellness. Don't be discouraged if you aren't seeing results right away.

Lastly, remember that fitness is a vital part of every healthy lifestyle because it keeps us physically strong and mentally focused. Whenever we work out, we make a clear decision to better ourselves and our lives.

An attitude of gratitude can help you appreciate that fact—and enjoy the physical, mental, and emotional benefits that fitness brings to your life regularly. Let's get moving!
